Extremely Ridiculously Fast Taping
Nuno Bettencourt seems to prefer using his custom Washburn N4 but armed with merely a block of wood, some string, and an electrical outlet I'm sure he could satisfy even the most pretentious of rock critics.
In the late '80s, Extreme's brand of juiced up and funktified rock blazed out of the cold desolate Boston scene and onto the national stage. With songs like "Play With Me" and "Kid Ego", their self titled debut introduced the world to a fret-board master artist. With their follow up album Pornograffitti the band achieved commercial success off their acoustic singles, "More Than Words" and "Hole Hearted". But what casual listeners may overlook on the Pornograffitti album are some unbelievable feats of guitar wizardry; "Get The Funk Out", "Decadence Dance", and of course "He-Man Woman Hater" attack the cochlea of the unsuspecting.
Here's a video of Extreme live in Copenhagen and Nuno strutting his stuff for the crowd

STREET LETHAL 1986
Probably my favorite Racer X album of all time. Besides the title track, Street Lethal contains such face melting tunes as "Hotter Than Fire", "Into The Night", and "On The Loose". Gilbert's guitar virtuoso shines through even in this early stage of his career and the raw unencumbered energy these early 20's musicians bring to the table will have you rockin' all night long.
