Night Time Smooth Tunez

It's been so heavy around here lately, I feel like we need to smooth things out a little bit. So boogy down for just a minute with us to some of the smoothest of the smooth, smooth as a baby's bottom.

A Little CORE for Your Afternoon

Some of this moombahcore stuff is heavy as hell; and y'all already know how I like it...the heavier the better.  Just wanted to rep a few of these new tracks that get me banging my head in the studio.

This might be the HEAVIEST moombah track I've heard thus far. The kid Lightning Eyez atributes the craziness to some combo Cali-kush he's been working with, whatever gets you in the mood I guess!

Not quite as heavy but still worth thrashing about to is the latest from Chooky. This two track EP will get you throwing some body weight around your room if you're not careful so take heed.

Here's the latest from Chicago based producer Valorous who tells me the Chicago scene isn't quite as cracking as he would like. Maybe a smack across the face is what the EDM fans out there need, this is the perfect tune to do said ass kicking to.

Finally we have Mackai beating down Skrillex. Love the heavy guitars in this and the hard ass vocals from Jonathan Davis. SHUT THE FUCK UP! GET UP!

Mas Jamz Tropicalizmo

The crazy folks at Coco Bass are delivering some sweet tropical rhythms from Gatos Locos.  They're referring to this as "Tropical Rave" music which seems about right; I'm loving the syncopated hand drums, super island feel going on.  It always amazes me when dudes be mixing these sort of drums with modern ass synth bass lines and crazy other shit.  As soon as I heard this I knew I had to deliver the goodness to you!  With a little help from Top Billin, Max le Daron, Dembowsky, and more this EP really delivers and will certainly get a steady head nod going at any down tempo partay.  The Euro scene has been seriously on point as of late, gotta get over there and check it out myself one of these days.

Friday's Are For MIXTAPES

There are a few things that bring me joy on a Friday morning.  Some delicious fried eggs, new episodes of Dragonball GT, and of course fresh and clean mixtapes to get the weekend rocking.  Today we're featuring the latest episode of the Tiki Cha Cha Club along with tapes from Jon Kwest, DJ EJ, and many more.

Have a blast this weekend!  Party down and be safe!

Thursday Night Winger

I can't resist posting this shit. Fucking LOVE Winger and I don't care if you don't...actually I do, FUCK you if you don't like Winger. I mean seriously, Reb Beach is a damn ANIMAL and Kip is probably one of the best singing bassists since Paul McCartney. Plus he looks like a pure bad ass singing with that headset mic; he made it awesome before it was turned to shit by fools like Justin Timberlake.

Who's That Moombahton Queen?

Her name is apparently Sarah Young according to the title of her latest EP which will be available in limited quantity at London's adidas Originals store.  She's been kind enough to provide the tracks for FREE on her soundcloud page, how nice of Sarah!  Check them out below!

I'm really digging this sucker.  Love the kuduro beat, love the moombah beat.  Always dig it when there are solid A/B sides.  I'm also impartial to Indian inspired tracks so you can bet I'm all over this EP.

Get To Know: LEISURE

Hailing from fabulous San Diego, California is a young man named Abraham Laguna, you may know him by his stage name Leisure.  We ran into him at Muevelo earlier this month and must say he's quite a nice chap.  It's been too long since I did a showcase piece so I thought I'd give some love to the dude since he's been lighting my soundcloud dashboard on fire as of late.  So sit back and get to know the musical stylings of LEISURE. (TONS AFTER THE JUMP)

Here's the latest from the kid, a bass filled boogie that'll surely get ya wigglin'.

Rot 10 Anoints Kid Cedek New Prezz

ATL-ien Kid Cedek has officially been announced as the next President of Rot 10 Musik.  We'd like to congratulate the dude on an amazing year thus far with a little free promo for him.  Here's wishing you a dope term as Prez and here's to the rest of 2012 blowing folks minds.  Check some of Cedek's raddest tracks below.

1984 LIVE

Let's go back people.  Back to the big hair, the rad pattern tights, the crazy ass paint jobs on single humbucker laden guitars. Let's take a moment to remember the ridiculous virtuosity expressed by 19 year old guitarists from middle America who came to LA with a dream in their heart and an itch to tear up the fretboard. Ladies and gentlemen, 1984...LIVE!

From Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.

Someone needs to remind Madonna that AUTOGRAPH is the only band I'll ever think of when I hear the phrase "Turn Up The Radio"...SUCK IT MADONNA

Skid Row LIVE

Remember when brown leather pants and no shirts was the way to go in rock n' roll??  Remember when awesome acoustic songs would rock the hell out of stadium crowds??  Well we're here to remind you, so here's some most excellent fucking live songs from Skid Row.  Don't gang up on Sebastian Bach for not being completely on pitch, remember this was before auto tune was the standard.

Headbanging Stuff

The latest EP from Brooklyn's Subdrive imprint is from fellow New Yorker Curl Up.  It's a fast paced maniacal sounding set of tracks perfect for throwing some bows to in the mosh pit; also good to bang your head to at some of the chilled down points.  The title track "Brain Damage" is apparently referring to what will more than likely happen to you if you rage to this shit at full volume, which I highly recommend.  This shit features remixes from Doctor Jeep and Mr. Vega (half of Sazon Booya).  This is some scary stuff, which is right up MTH's alley if you understand my meaning y'all.  Keep up the fucking FANTASTIC work all of you and we'll keep promoting it.

Midweek Roundup!

Yee-haw!!  Happy hump day one and all, it's time for this week's soundcloud pull.  We're roundin' 'em up for y'all pleasure so please enjoy some more great and in some cases FREE muzak.  I'm feeling super lazy this morning so I won't wear you down with meaningless drivel, I'll just let my picks for this week do the talking.  Enjoy!

Anyways, hope you like these jams!  Stay tuned for more and more great new music!  Also, don't forget to check us out on Facebook and twitter y'all!

Another party video for a party track.  It hits all the necessary notes, police sirens, flashing lights, neon wristbands, chicks shaking their asses, you know the usual.  Texas what's good?!

Lumberjack Music

THIS is what I'm talking about...this is what rock and roll is missing, fools playing chainsaws on stage. The last clip is of Jesse James Dupree pissing Tom Green the FUCK off on his Canadian talk show.  Pure genius.

2 DEEP Reveal Themselves to MTH

The homies Ultra and Luis aka 2DEEP were kind enough to invite me out to the latest edition of Muevelo and even stepped aside from their hosting duties to chit chat with me for this little video.  It's the latest from MTH TV in what we hope will be a recurring feature on the site.  They were also amazing enough to pass along a brand new remix for us to feature along with the video.  Check it out below...download it HERE!

Check out 2DEEP on Facebook and twitter and if you're in LA make sure to get your ass to Muevelo this week with none other than NADASTROM.

Tracks keep falling onto soundcloud from the WMC comp and heres another one!

PLATINUM CHAINS

Met babySTEPS a few weeks ago at Muevelo, what a nice guy letting Luis do that!

And finally, here's a remix Zach Morris would be proud of.  Screech best look out or someone might curb stomp his ass to this track.  Anyways that's it for todays newest shit.  Tune in next Monday for more and more of the finest fresh tracks from MTH.

New :DFace in YOUR FACE

The title of this EP reminds me of a Queen song, as do :DFace's vocals at times oddly enough; I wonder if there's any correlation.  Either way this release is not to be missed; as we reported earlier in the month the Stamford, Connecticut native will venture out into the US in support of this Rot10 release with stops in Chicago, Kansas City, St. Louis, Lincoln, and more.  So grab up this EP RIGHT HERE and enjoy the previews below.

More Mid-West BASS

I just heard a forth coming track from this dude Ra Cailum in the Secret Sauce mix posted earlier today and had to track him down.  Turns out he just put out a 3 song EP full of bass for these cats Mapzzz so I'm posting it here!  Just the right mood for a lazy Friday so pump up the volume and sit in that subwoofer sweet spot for this sucker.  Think 2wice is putting out his newest stuff in May so keep your eyes peeled for that too.

¡Cumbia!

Just feel like posting up some cumbias for ya to rock.  Just to sorta change the pace up here at MTH where we seem to have gotten a little rock heavy today.  BAM.

More Friday ROCKERS

Can't quite shake this need to ROCK THE FUCK OUT.  GET DOWN!

Friday is for Mixtapes

Another Friday, another edition of MTH's mixtape Fridays.  This week we're bringing the heat from Deadly Vipers, Tri:bal, Brodinski, and much much more.  Now in the last couple week's Snoop Dogg has been doing some SERIOUS work on the soundcloud tip.  I mean fully flooding my incoming tracks list; like 20 or 30 cuts per day!  So I'mma give that fool some love coming straight from the LB by starting off this week's mixes with one from the D-O-double-G.

That's it for this week.  If you've got tracks, please submit them!  Check the CONTACT US section for various ways to get in contact with us and we'll see y'all next week for more fantabulous tapes.

Friday ROCKS

The week is coming to the close and I feel like rocking the fuck out!  Here's 5 tracks to get you in a similar mood!  LET'S ROCK!

Thursday is for COVERS

Deadly Vipers Comin' Back 2 The Hotel

We posted a few of these back in one of our many soundcloud dumps on y'all but now that the full release is out I thought I'd give the homies over at Deadly Vipers a little love by blasting it for you here at MTH.  I'm especially diggin' this Epinephrine remix in addition to my man King Kong's take on the N2Deep classic.  Check 'em out!

Midweek Mayhem

It's about that time again ladies and gents, for this week's midweek soundcloud pull.  Today we've got a bunch of freebies for ya including a new E.L.M.O. remix all clubbed up, an extra track from this weeks WMC release, and of course some zany shit I've been digging on.  ¡DALE!

This track comes from the Cassette Blog exclusive release of Dixone's El Jaguar EP.

And here we have yet another soulful flip by one of our favs here at MTH, King Kong!

Valentino Khan with a giveaway track for all his lovely fans this week, how kind.

Here is the aforementioned "Philly Club Music" remix of big man David Heartbreak.

And this is a little diddy, RiotEarp with some footwork knowledge for us.

Mendez and the El Cuco camp dropping off another free track for the masses.

A nice smooth little down tempo gem from Sabo, from Wool's The Good In You EP.

Zee Reach again coming at us with the crazy french inspired latin flavor, dig it.

This track comes off Jon Kwest's Winter Of Moombahton compilation, a great crowd mover from Lithuania's finest Boyfriend who teamed up with Jamaican Krinjah.

Lastly but certainly not least is a banging track from Vegas DJ's Teen Wolf and Shelco Garcia.  The title is fitting considering tonight in Miami is the WMC Moombahton Massive put on by Gary Richards and his HARD team.  If you're in Miami which I think these two are I'm very jealous.  Anyway that wraps us up today.  Bang your head to these tracks and we'll see you next week for more soundcloud drops.

Return of the Edits

The undisputed king of the edit is back at work again and so kindly, Doc Adam is giving away a whole pack of them for you, you, you, and of course you.  This dude is putting in work!  And in preparation for a couple of gigs in Michigan apparently he's gone edit happy yet again and we here at MTH couldn't be more excited.  This pack includes some classic 80's jams, some album rock, and some new stuff; all in the signature debow'd style of the good doctor.  On a side note the PDX DJ will be joining us on our next installment of Don't Be Shy and we're hoping he's got some great tales to tell.  Grab the edits HERE and some extra special re-drums below the track list.

Bill Withers - Lovely Day (Doc Adam Re-Drum)
Earth, Wind & Fire - Brazilian Rhyme (Danny Krivit x Doc Adam Edit)
Fleetwood Mac - Everywhere (Doc Adam Re-Drum)

PLUS:
Psychedelic Furs - Love My Way (Doc Adam Re-Drum)
Gino Soccio - Take Me To The Top (Doc Adam Re-Drum)

HIGHLY Anticipated WMC Comp

It's curious that the Winter Of Moombahton compilation should be released on the 2nd day of spring but who am I to question the reasoning of this amazing group of artists; after all, last years Spring Of Moombahton didn't come out until July.  Compiled by none other than the great Jon Kwest, this sucker is fully loaded with hot new tracks from some of the movements biggest players and up and comers.  Just in time for the Winter Music Conference, DJ Mag imagines moombahton in, "a Rocky training montage as it prepares for its shot at the crown".  If it's on the verge of really blowing up worldwide we here at MTH feel like these artists Kwest has collected are a fine example of it.  Grab the whole comp HERE and check previews of some of my favs below.

Cy Kosis is KILLING it, literally!  It's a massacre.

Arizona dons Pickster & Melo team up for yet another bass filled BEAST.

This Kwest track is HANDS DOWN my favorite on the comp.  Real dark and dirty.

Cañamojoso first came to my attention via a new Kickstarter campaign launched by Lightening Eyez and company advocating for the legalization of MJ.  Get all the info HERE.

Tuesday Night YACHT ROCK

If the related videos on YouTube include Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, or the Doobies, you're probably listening to Yacht Rock. This stuff is as smooth as silk and just as sexy so slide off your deck shoes and boogie to the groove.

On a side note, thank you DJ Melo for reminding me how hot this track is.

4 from 1994

Snoop Dogg has lately been blowing up my soundcloud dashboard with all kinds of mixes, free tracks, and mixtape requests.  Had me thinking back to the good ole days when he was still the "doggy dog".  So here's to 1994...RIP Tupac, RIP Guru.

New 2Deep EP fo FREEEEE

The latest from LA duo 2Deep featuring their homie DJR is a massive FREE release called Otra Noche.  This son of a bitch features huge remixes from DJ Melo and Quality.  The homies Def Sound (aka Luis) and UltraCat were kind enough to let me interview them last week at Muevelo, be on the look out for that video soon but in the meantime just sit back relax and ride to the beat.

Don't Be Shy 001 with BRENT TACTIC

Welcome to the first of hopefully many!  This is episode 001 of our new monthly feature: Don't Be Shy.  This month we welcome KC producer/DJ/moombahtonista Brent Tactic.  This guy is doing mad work in the mid west pushing the 110 sound and we here at MTH really wanted to showcase him for all that effort he's putting in.  Brent was kind enough to call us up even though he was bed ridden with the flu bug but he came through with some great stories that we're happy to share with the world.  So without further ado, here's Brent Tactic.  Check after the jump for some more jams from the Think2wice mastermind.

Late Night Boots

Yet another package of sweet sweet bootlegs has dropped, this time from NY based DJ's MiniMaxX and DJEJ from the Rot10 family.  Their collaboration is entitled Antes De La Fiesta and contains some pretty serious moombah work; tracks as big as "Beat It" and "Aerodynamic" get the signature 110 treatment in a well crafted and unique style.  These guys are definitely doing some great work and we here at MTH are looking forward to their forthcoming EP of originals due out sometime this summer.  For now enjoy this bootleg pack available for download HERE; and preview all tracks via DJEJ's soundcloud below.
