MWP Indian Summer Edition

It's the first week of October and hopefully--for most of you--that means leaves are changing colors, nights are growing longer, and the hunt for halloween costumes has just begun. Out here on the west coast it has been pretty damn hot outside, so much so that August blurred into September and this tenth month of the year seemingly crept out of nowhere to overtake us in our sweaty state. Like the climate, tracks are still coming in hot as ever as we look deeper into the eyes of Autumn and we here at MTH are always eager to share with you what we've found. This week marks the epic conclusion of Marvel's Avengers vs X-Men crossover so here's some tunes from the likes of Drop The Lime, Disgraceland, Riot Earp and more to fill your ears with.

First up,  Dos Lobos' entry into Insomniac's Discovery Project, where they pluck talented up and comers to perform at their festivals.  This entry, as you may have guessed from its eerie nature, is for Escape From Wonderland.

Next, here's another core-leaning moombah-hit, this time from NYC producer Loud Flavor.  The title track from his latest release from Bass Taste, it's some "Wild Bizznizz" indeed...grab the whole single RIGHT HERE.

Philly's finest son, Sköllo with a nice update to the classic "Tarzan Boy"...FREE DOWNLOAD of course so get out your hammer pants and dance your ass off to this at your next house party.

Here's a tasty track forthcoming from Ultra on Drop The Lime's Enter The Nite Versions remix album.  DTL promises it'll be a more "DJ appropriate" retooling of his debut release Enter The Night.

Alright enough of the heavy, dark stuff...how bout a little banda to cheer things up a tad!  Really digging this edit from Sonora, takes me back to alley way BBQs in Long Beach's east side.  FREE DOWNLOAD!

A touch of tech and a real deep bass tone carry us through this next offering from Yung Skeeter; it's a taste of LA funk to set your soul on fire this hot autumn day.  FREE DOWNLOAD!

Fista Cuffs and Majestry teamed up on this track for last year's Sound Of Silence² compilation from Conga Records and now it seems a remix EP may be on the horizon.  Of the 25 or 26 I listened to my favorite has to be this one from Fake Moustache.  Get down!

Some laid back acoustic guitar chops on this moombahsoul remix from Leeway.  The Polish producer finds a nice little sweet spot with José González' cover of "Heartbeats"...perfect cool weather tune.

Riot Earp is TWO FOLLOWERS AWAY from giving this track out for free.  So if you're reading this and not already following the dude on soundcloud please do so for the good of the rest of us!

Had the opportunity to chat with Disgraceland yesterday for our forthcoming episode of the "Don't Be Shy" podcast so I thought I'd share his latest free release.  He's been sitting on this deep-as-hell track for a few months so be thankful he decided to grace us all with it for FREE DOWNLOAD.

A little something for those filthy chicks daggering in their bedrooms.  D-V3KZ sending a shout out to all the sucias out there who may be listening.

Another FREE DOWNLOAD to finish off the set today, this one comes from Mackai who must be quite familiar with the wacky weed.  This late night anthem won't cure your munchies but it'll knock when you throw it on your system for the run to 7-11.

That's it for now, make sure to follow us on soundcloud to catch all our podcasts and mixcloud to listen back to all our radio mixes!  Back next Wednesday with more great new tunes from the Midweek Pull!

New Week...New Chunes

I took in 4 days of nerd-dom at the mecca of all things geeky: Comic-Con and am finally getting back on the horse here at MTH to bring you some new music for your little ears.  Best moment of the con you ask?  As always, the Masquerade Ball...it's basically a middle school dance blended with a Star Wars theme wedding.  All the best things of each including plenty of cosplayers mixing things up on the floor--greatest of which has to go to Earthworm Jim who actually came up to me and said, "WHO WANTS TO SEE JIM DO THE WORM??".  For more of my madness from all four days check my recaps over at META.  Now to the new tunes, not really up for much today so you'll have to take them all in and pass judgement for yourself!!!  New shit from ETC!ETC!, Mendez, Drop The Lime and more.

Midweek Mayhem

Ladies and gentlemen!  We've reached the mid point in yet another great week for new music lovers and so it is again my pleasure to share some of my favorites.  It's sunny as hell out here in LA so it's some what torturous to be sitting in this cool air conditioned, windowless studio pouring over the dredges soundcloud has to offer but I take pride in bringing the heat to you out there in internet-land.  Fresh heat from David Heartbreak, Mendez, The Al Gore Rhythm Method and more this week so let's get it cracking!

Sin Diesel kicking things off with his forthcoming remix of Rot10 president Kid Cedek. Love the lurking drum work on this one as my man takes a seemingly darker approach than some other versions we've heart of this track.

FREE DOWNLOAD! El Cuco head honcho Mendez coming back again with yet another bootleg. Jump on this one while it's still available.

The Nadastrom remix of this still reigns as my favorite version of this Drop The Lime cut but I'll give the man props for this darker take on his own work.

Javier Estrada penned this theme music for LA based The Wood Class...met some of these dudes at Muevelo a while back, get at them if you wanna be mad swagged outta your mind.

Heartbreak calls this track a cross between "Trap Shit and Badman Rave". Good to see the chameleon back at it again with yet ANOTHER stylistic jump. Fans of this site know I'm a Marvel fan boy so mad props to Dave for donning the purple and green as well.

One of my absolutely favorite producers, Frenchman Douster dropped this new remix on us today. It debuted in the Thermal Teams most recent podcast and the awesome news is, IT'S FREE!

More Canadian moombah for y'all from the homies in TAGRM. Another step in a cool direction for this duo, we here at MTH look forward to more awesome productions to come.

Melo released this soulful, summer jam yesterday on his The Diamond King release. I suggest you pick it up immediately.

Here's another summer-tinged track from LA duo Poolside. Their "Daytime Disco" take on this cut from The Rapture has me yearning for a mojito and a chez lounge.

Yet another super-star team up for Dillon Francis, this time with Fool's Gold co-founder A-Trak. Make sure to check out the wacky video for this one featuring a handful of cool cameos.

Another lurky bass driven track and guess what...it's a FREE DOWNLOAD! Y'all know how much I love those...check out Doc Trashz FB page for more info on this Trouble and Bass artist.

In honor of Donna Summer's passing last week Riot Earp through together this club re-work of the Diana Ross classic "Missing You"...we here at MTH are also mourning the legendary disco artists passing, RIP.

This final track is somewhat a joke not sure if El Nomada is in on it but either way I like his 8-bitaton...haha.

So that'll do it for this week's new tracks.  Make sure to check in with us on Friday for some crazy mixtape madness!

New 'ish

Did ya miss me?  Sorry for being absent all last week but I was taking so much needed vaca with my bro. We sailed the islands and I've returned refreshed and slightly more disillusioned with my work here at the MTH blog.  That being said I know I've got appearances to keep up and loving readers to impress my knowledge upon so here I am back at it again trying my best to bring you up to speed on some of the best of the best tracks soundcloud has to offer.  Without further ado let's jump in feet first shall we??  Really not feeling it right now so I'm just gonna lazily post without description...download dem freebies y'all.

Not even this track from Team Bayside High can get me pumped for this...

FREE DOWNLOAD RIGHT HERE

ETC! ETC!'s Killafornia EP is out TOMORROW on Party Like Us Records...check the previews HERE

Shoutout to the LB homies...RIP Nate Dogg

Make sure to grab the whole Gato Preto EP RIGHT HERE...shit's on fire.

That's it for now y'all...keep checking the site for more stuff or don't who cares.

Harvard Bass-ics

One dude I can't seem to play enough of lately is Harvard Bass. I stumbled upon his Beni remix a while ago and it sent me on a hunt for more. His Caked / 81 EP (pictured below) is out now from Sound Pellegrino on Beatport and iTunes. Today I'm featuring two of Bass's remixes as well as a Renaissance Man remix after the jump.

First I'm tossing up his remix of Drop The Lime's "Set Me Free" which leads the way on the Set Me Free (Remixes) release last month.

Next up is another remix released by Sound Pellegrino for Laidback Luke and Gina Turner's latest team up, Nouveau Yorican. The track is called "Boriqua" and Bass delivers a fantastic rework, combining stabbing synths, pounding kicks, and sheer balls to bring your ears joy like christmas day.
