New Sounds From Boyfriend

Right on the heels of this summer's mega-hit Bashin', Diabluma Sound dropped another soon to be OG release; this time the tunes are coming from our favorite Lithuanian moombahtonista: Boyfriend.  Out today, the Vodka House EP is old fashioned moombahton brought to light.  With top notch production, tight as hell drums, and the Vilnius born producer's signature Euro-stylings this four track EP is a MUST HAVE for any die hard fan of the movement.  Florida bass head Big Makk gives an assist on the ultra-late night tune "6AM" and Nadastrom lends their club tuned ears to a fine remix of the title track bringing everything full circle for this long time contributor to Europe's 108 scene.  Boyfriend's Club Tropicana party has been a mainstay across the pond for the last few years and he will join Nada and co for the continent's forthcoming Berlin Moombahton Massive in December.  Get down to the sounds!

Friday! Friday! Friday!

Man...you people don't even know how lucky you are.  I'm sitting here, on vacation, with a glass of beer in my hand and all I can think about is how necessary it is to my life to get my weekly mixtape blog done.  Wait a minute, maybe it's not you that has a problem it's me...too much vacation??  Is it weird to say I'll be glad to go back to work on Monday?  How likely is it that come Monday afternoon I'll wish I was back on vacation?  I'd say it's a 100% chance...in that case, let's quit the talking and get on to the mixtapes y'all!!  After all, it's Friday, that means it's time to party.










That's it dudes and dudettes...since this is my first mixtape post in 3 weeks I'm reaching into the past and pulling old tapes out for you cause you may or may not have heard them.  That's gonna be it for the week but I promise to be back here bright and early Monday bringing you the newest of the new and the heaviest of the heavy.  Also, June is shaping up to be a great month down on the blog so stay tuned for big and great things to come.  Make sure to check us out on facebook, twitter, soundcloud, and now MIXCLOUD for more amazing things!

Our favorite Lithuanian moombahtonista is back again with a two track EP titled EXTRA EXTRA out today on Big 'n' Hairy Records.  Boyfriend never disappoints unlike some people's significant others I'm sure and these tracks will suit any mood you are in.  Great late night music right here so go on and support the homie by buying these tracks RIGHT HERE!  It's only $4!!  PS there's an awesome BIG BUDGET music video to accompany "Random Story", the visual effects will blow your mind.

Midweek Mayhem

It's about that time again ladies and gents, for this week's midweek soundcloud pull.  Today we've got a bunch of freebies for ya including a new E.L.M.O. remix all clubbed up, an extra track from this weeks WMC release, and of course some zany shit I've been digging on.  ¡DALE!

This track comes from the Cassette Blog exclusive release of Dixone's El Jaguar EP.

And here we have yet another soulful flip by one of our favs here at MTH, King Kong!

Valentino Khan with a giveaway track for all his lovely fans this week, how kind.

Here is the aforementioned "Philly Club Music" remix of big man David Heartbreak.

And this is a little diddy, RiotEarp with some footwork knowledge for us.

Mendez and the El Cuco camp dropping off another free track for the masses.

A nice smooth little down tempo gem from Sabo, from Wool's The Good In You EP.

Zee Reach again coming at us with the crazy french inspired latin flavor, dig it.

This track comes off Jon Kwest's Winter Of Moombahton compilation, a great crowd mover from Lithuania's finest Boyfriend who teamed up with Jamaican Krinjah.

Lastly but certainly not least is a banging track from Vegas DJ's Teen Wolf and Shelco Garcia.  The title is fitting considering tonight in Miami is the WMC Moombahton Massive put on by Gary Richards and his HARD team.  If you're in Miami which I think these two are I'm very jealous.  Anyway that wraps us up today.  Bang your head to these tracks and we'll see you next week for more soundcloud drops.

HIGHLY Anticipated WMC Comp

It's curious that the Winter Of Moombahton compilation should be released on the 2nd day of spring but who am I to question the reasoning of this amazing group of artists; after all, last years Spring Of Moombahton didn't come out until July.  Compiled by none other than the great Jon Kwest, this sucker is fully loaded with hot new tracks from some of the movements biggest players and up and comers.  Just in time for the Winter Music Conference, DJ Mag imagines moombahton in, "a Rocky training montage as it prepares for its shot at the crown".  If it's on the verge of really blowing up worldwide we here at MTH feel like these artists Kwest has collected are a fine example of it.  Grab the whole comp HERE and check previews of some of my favs below.

Boyfriend teaming up with Zebra Kats

Lithuania's tropical bass specialist Boyfriend is teaming up with MC Zebra Katz for the Winter Titty EP out March 26th on Senseless Records.  After the success of the Jefree's release of Imma Read we here at MTH are really excited to here this thing once it finally drops.  Here's a preview via the all important minimix.

On A Boat!

This weekend lucky moombahtonistas Dave Nada, Brodinski, Dillon Francis, Diplo, DJ Craze, and many more are hitting the Caribbean for some pari-tyme at sea!  Meanwhile back on the mainland we're enjoying Wild Card weekend and a little sun ourselves.  Here are a few tracks we've been listening to and hope the folks on the boat are rocking out to.
