The Return

Following an extended hiatus, we bring you MTH's infamous midweek pull!  Been trolling soundcloud this week and picking only the ripest of the ripe for your listening pleasure.  This week we've got tracks from ESSBEEDEE, Secret Sauce, Bro Safari with ETC!ETC! and more so let's get cracking shall we?
BRO SAFARI and ETC!ETC! with some free tunage...Mendez dropped this back in June at Muevelo and folks went a little loco.  FREE DOWNLOAD.

Here's a jazzy little diddy from Noms. Lovin' this laid back feel, perfect for a cold evening riding the train home.

Friend of the site, Valorous offered up this interesting new tune for FREEEEE last week and I felt compared to share. I believe the Mother Of Dragons would approve.

Here's another laid back tune to sway to; thee Mike B flushed out a pack of elevated tunes over the weekend and this is my fav.

Andrew Sinclair has a forthcoming EP from Think 2wice Records that label head Brent Tactic promises will be very intriguing. If this initial single is any insight I believe he's telling us the truth; here's the Secret Sauce remix. Grab the single RIGHT HERE.

Our buddy Fich aka DJ Apt One is a disco mastermind so when I spied this "Disco Dub" on his soundcloud page I knew it must be shared. His Fich So Saxy EP is available everywhere now, grab this Frank Ocean rework for FREE then grab his commercial release RIGHT HERE.

Been really stoked on Milangeles of late...this dancehall tinged juke remix for Copia Doble Systema is a prime example of the correct ways to use a whistle on a track....BOOM FREE DOWNLOAD.

Die hard readers will understand my love of huge claps and throwback rhythms...this Ben Tactic original has both, thank goodness. Dude is calling this "303" and real producers will get that reference as well. FREE DOWNLOAD

Our friends La'Reda dropped this new single on Monday and it knocks. Support these cats by purchasing the "Synth-Rex" single RIGHT HERE.

This might be the pick of the litter right here folks...something about the soaring 90's-esque vocals that really appeals to my core. I grew up with Snap, La Bouche, and folks like Ace Of Base so I'm always stoked when new iterations of that style show up on my dashboard. Big ups to Brenmar on this one.

The homie David Heartbreak teamed up with Alexandre for this maddeningly deranged remix. Dude is always coming at us with some left field shit and I gotta give him the credit he is due; it's crazy how tight his production has become and how bonkers he's gotten lately on this underground bass sound he's cultivating.

Wrapping things up with this new tune from ESSBEEDEE...apparently Sam is down for some HOVA! Big ups to the Deadly Vipers for releasing the tune, make sure to grab the FREE DOWNLOAD.

That's gonna do it for this week. Hope you all enjoy these tracks, make sure to buy them where noted and download all the freebies at your leisure. If you haven't checked out our latest episode of the "Don't Be Shy" podcast make sure to do that RIGHT HERE, or just head over to the RADIO tab to listen to all our podcasts and mix shows. The midweek pull will return on October 3rd so till then, keep your pants on, be safe, and have a great week!

Back at it again!!

I know y'all love em...I know y'all need em!  That's why every Monday, unless otherwise occupied, I'm doing my darndess to bring you the root'en-toot'enest new chunes that soundcloud has to offer.  Why might you ask??  You could say I just aim to please my loyal readers, others may call me mad, say I'm wasting my time because in reality I don't have any loyal readers.  Mostly I'm doing it to keep a record, so that later down the line when everyone else comes to terms with their piss poor taste in new music, they'll point to the long forgotten pages of the Metal Top Hat blog and say, "this guy knew something...he had a thought and didn't give a damn what others said about it".  So there you have it!  Maybe I am a little lost in the head but to tell you the truth, I just don't give a fuck.  Today we've got new music from Secret Sauce, Surkin, Croydon, and more!!  So let's jump in and see if history proves me right shall we?

First up we have a nostalgic flip from Buzz A Buzz. This tune perked my interest not only because I am a fan of the 1999 classic, The Wood, but also because it's kick drum will punch a hole in your speaker.

Huge freebie from turntablist and ATL OG Klever...it's a bonkers bass jaunt with plenty of stabs to scare the hell outta the standard, everyday listener.

For the 149 folks lucky enough to grab this track before the free download was pulled...I envy you.  Here's Surkin doin' a little work on MIA's "Bad Girls"...this remix will NOT be featured on her USB Necklace release of other remixes so I'm not sure if it'll ever see the light of day outside of your standard piracy locations.

New reggae shit from Snoop...being that I'm a resident of the LBC I feel obligated to at least let you know about this if you haven't heard it yet. Produced by none other than Major Lazer and apparently will be released as a "Snoop Lion" track...yeahhhhhh I'm not really feeling it.

Here's a cool track from LA producer Chris Vazquez...love the sound design in this one as the ape calls are perfect for getting fools to go bananas on the dance floor.

Now the first of two from KC. Here we have the talented trio of Secret Sauce (Brent Tactic, DJ Archi, DJ B-Stee) linking up to bring the pain on this free moombahton track. The name says it all, so play it loud and shake that ass y'all!!

And here we have yet another freebie, this time from DJ Archi who says of this track, "Call it Trap, call it R&B, whatever. Just some smooth grooves that I hope you like" well played sir. I do like it!

How about some pop catchiness getting stomped on by a wobbly bass track? That's a good recipe if you ask me...not my favorite rework of this track but Alvin Risk still proving he's a force to be reckoned with.

The homie Leisure reached the daunting plateau of 10k downloads last week and in celebration he dropped yet another free track on us all!! Enjoy!

This dude Croydon is consistently dropping heaters on us...this track came out last week on his El Hefe EP so GO BUY IT and support his efforts!

As far as I know there aren't many Portuguese moombahtonistas out there who can hold a candle to this dude King Kong...especially not when he's got his soul cap on. Another stellar track and of course it's FREEEEEEE so grab it while you still can and rinse it out in the clubs y'all.

This Skrillex remix has been getting tons of attention lately and it didn't take long for Phoenix' own Mendez to do his traditional moombahton flip of it. It's available for free if you like his Facebook Page so do yourself a favor and grab it ASAP!!

Last but certainly not least a new track from the homie D-V3KZ. Heavy ass moombahton right here...which is EXACTLY what this site is all about. My man has been putting in massive amounts of work and it's really showing as he seems to be honing his production skills every week. Big ups!

Well that's gonna do it for today's new tunes y'all.  Hot damn this was a long post!!  Hope you enjoy these tracks, make sure to download the ones that are free.  If you're excited about this blog you should follow us on twitter, then go like us on facebook, then follow us on soundcloud.  See you soon!

New Wave 3 is Cresting

That dirty frenchman over at Walmer Convenience has compiled the third edition of the New Wave of Moombahton comp and it's pretty epic.  We're talking 16 delicious tracks showcasing the wide variety of talent in this up and coming genre.  Tracks from Kovary, Don Valdez, King Kong, DJEJ with MiniMaxX, Secret Sauce, and more!!  Everyone knows the latest is the greatest so why are you sitting back??  Get up and grab this just like the giant dude in the cover art!
Per Walmer:
Here it is. Volume III of the New Wave of Moombahton Series. Really happy how this turned out especially when Generation Bass and Moomba-Thong had set the bar so high. Some of these names you should already know, some of these names will be known to you soon. Wanted to really show the different directions you could take the genre in and this group of track exemplifies that. Wanna thank everyone who submitted and took this seriously, the hard work fucking shows. Wanna thank Evan Langley (Dj Vous) for doing the mastering. People have nothing but good things to say about it and wanna thank Bad Idea for the cover.
Enjoy.

Friday is for Mixtapes

Another Friday, another edition of MTH's mixtape Fridays.  This week we're bringing the heat from Deadly Vipers, Tri:bal, Brodinski, and much much more.  Now in the last couple week's Snoop Dogg has been doing some SERIOUS work on the soundcloud tip.  I mean fully flooding my incoming tracks list; like 20 or 30 cuts per day!  So I'mma give that fool some love coming straight from the LB by starting off this week's mixes with one from the D-O-double-G.

That's it for this week.  If you've got tracks, please submit them!  Check the CONTACT US section for various ways to get in contact with us and we'll see y'all next week for more fantabulous tapes.
