Bmore Moombah curator extraordinaire Jon Kwest is back again digging deep into his sample crate and bringing together old and new with his latest free comp Lighter: Moombahton vs Jungle/DNB. Similar to previous Kwest comp Dust Mask: Moombahton vs UK Hardcore this moombahtonista has teamed up with plenty of heavy hitters to pay tribute to the Jungle/DNB scene they came up with.
From Kwest himself:
"What I always try to do we these comps is show the OG shit that influenced me & like-minded producers from jump street, and also shine a new light on entirely overlooked times & genres that brought all of us to where we all are.
Jungle/Dnb, I think, might be the most relatable to Moombahton in that the majority of pre-existing club & rave folk shat on it when they first heard.. then later went on to eat that shit & love it! Some folks got it right from the giddy up, but it was a long hard road to acceptance that a lot of people fought the whole way.
Underground dance heads aren’t always as neophilic as you may want them-or they pretend to be (drastic tempo changes are a bitch to some people apparently), but just like Jungle & Dnb types, Moombahtonistas don’t give a fuck if you like it or “get it”. There’s an underlying theme of “Imma do me” with both.
So sit back, jump up, bubble, whine, bruck out, roll somethin, drink somethin & ENJOY!!!!" (moombahton.com)

Secret Sauce are a trio of KC DJs: Brent Tactic, DJ B-Stee, and DJ Archi and they're bringing some soul to Doc Scott's "Far Away". WHOOPS! This track was part of the reason Doc Scott got so pissed so Tactic took it down! (I'm leaving this up dead so people will remember)
